A Contest for Artists of All Levels!
Do you paint? Have you always wanted to paint, but been afraid to try? Do you have a pile of tiny black resin horses? Or were you considering participating in NaMoPaiMo? Stretch your painting muscles, put on those reading glasses, pull out the tiny brushes, and paint a micro mini!
Prizes will be offered for several categories, including Best by Beginner, Best by Amateur, and Best by Professional, as well as prizes for Best Use of Color, Best Preserved Sculptural Detail, Best Presentation and Best Photo. Prizes will include micro mini resins!
All entries must be micro mini or bantam scale horses sculpted by Maggie Jenner-Bennett, finished exclusively by the entrant. Customization is allowed, so be as creative as you like!
Deadline for entries is March 11, 2018. There is no cost to enter.
Email your entries to maggie@maggiebennett.com with the subject line "Contest Entry". Please include your name, your level (Beginner/Amateur/Professional) and your best photo of your micro mini. All entries will be posted on Facebook. You may enter up to three horses (please send a separate email for each horse).
All entries must be painted entirely by the entrant. Pieces may be prepped or resculpted by other artists, but all finishwork must be completed by the entrant.
I plan to make this a recurring contest. For this 2018 contest, all completed pieces are allowed. Work does not need to be new for this contest. Future contests will be limited to more recent work (on resins released after 2017).
You do not need to retain ownership of your entered horse.
You need to choose the category of beginner, amateur, or professional that you feel you best fit in. I will consider all entries for all applicable prizes--there is no need to enter specifically for "Best Presentation", for example.
