I am a full-time equine artist currently living in Durham, North Carolina. I have been sculpting horses from a young age and have been producing model horses since 2003, including through college where I earned a degree in Materials Engineeding. I have released sculptures in scales from the tiniest micro mini foal to large traditional and find that I like all scales, although each has different challenges (sculpting whisker bumps on a micro mini just wouldn't really make sense, while a "minor" adjustment of a large piece may mean removing quite a bit of material)! I strive to improve with every piece, whether sculpture or finish work. I work from a wide variety of references with the goal of improving in realism and accuracy, without losing the spirit and life that makes a sculpture look like it could breathe.
